Born and raised in Whanganui, New Zealand, I started a photography career back in 2006 jumping into Fashion and Beauty, then creative portraiture and select weddings. Taking a hiatus in 2014 I shifted to Australia for a few years, then returned to New Zealand to be around family again.
At the beginning of Covid, life changed, lockdowns and working from home, I needed to be creative again, so started studying creativity for two and a half years. I worked my way up to a New Zealand Diploma in Creativity - Level 6, and now, after taking a year off to do a New Zealand Diploma in Digital Media and Design (Level 5), I have returned to The Learning Connexion to complete a Diploma in Art and Creativity (Advanced) Level 7. I have a passion for visual communication that evokes conversation and social change, and emotion.
I have a deep passion for black and white photography, drawn to its timeless elegance and ability to convey emotion without distraction. The absence of color allows me to focus on light, shadow, and texture, capturing the raw essence of a moment in a way that feels pure and authentic. For me, black and white photographs transcend time, offering a powerful, stripped-back narrative that resonates on a deeper level.
